Playmobil School Bus
« on: December 28, 2010, 16:08:43 »
I guess this is goes in this section.

Anyway, with the school that Playmobil has out now, they seem to be lacking one essential item for it.  A school bus.

What about past offerings?  Did they ever make a decent school bus?  Or bus that could be converted/painted to make a school bus?

There have been a few variations of schoolbuses

The German one:

3521 - School Bus][URL=http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3521]3521 - School Bus

They also did a yelow/black one (which is the one I have):

3170x - Schoolbus

There have also been others produced for other countries such as Spain :)

Getting over my laziness I googled and this is all I could find.  The 3521.  Doesn't look like any school bus I've ever seen.  More like an ambulance that got a new sticker ...

Okay, there's also the 3170, which looks like the same one(?) but with a different colour plastic.

Thanks for the quick reply!  Is it any good?

Yeah, I know it's Playmobil, so it should be good, right.  We all know that one (but do we  --  thinking of the Chicken dragon and the firetruck in the usa)

It's ok, but I don't really like it :-\

The whole design just isn't right. The actual van itself is nice, I like it. But when you go and put seats in the back it just doesn't do it for me. It looks more like a plane/space shuttle inside rather than a bus.

I would very much like to see an updated version :)

Excellent idea for needing an updated school bus! Hopefully there will be a new introduction of one before the new school house series is retired!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Is there anything we, as consumers, could do?

I know I have seen pictures children have drawn at Playmobil HQ that the design team goes over and gets influence from.

We may be able to send a request through the Playmobil Collectors Club pilot program here. Based on which of the new vehicles already in production should it be designed from?

wow...i've never seen any of these sets.

there are some vans in argentina that takes kids to school (that would be a private service) that looks like the orange and white one....  ;D
The buses hired by schools are of course big buses but also white and orange.  :)
