Has anyone else seen this fantastic film that Jimbo intoduced us to?

And, James ... Are you going to make some more Playmobil scaled seaplanes from this marvelous movie?

I would love to see mi-chi work his magic on creating Gina's Hotel Adriano out of Playmobil's SystemX !!!

Hi Richard,
I am a Miyazawa fan.
I have a CD Set of about 12 films and Porco Rosso is one of them.
They are all in Japanese, with subtitles.

We just havent taken the time for Porco Rosso, yet.

Hello, Meg ...

Amongst Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli fans there seems to be those who prefer either what they call the "subs" or the "dubs." Personally, I have always preferred "subs" or subtitles. However, with this "Porco Rosso" film, the Disney dub with Michael Keaton is, in my opinion, excellent. And, preferrable to subtitles.

I have watched the trailers in Japanese (with subtitles) and I really do like the dubbed voices from Disney much better.

Since you already have the "sub' version, it will be interesting to read your opinion after you watch it.

This is my first (and only) Miyasaki film. I have not even seen "Spirited Away" which, as you know, won an Academy Award.

Looking forward to reading your "review."

All the best,
Richard

Hi Richard,

I am thinking about making at least one of the Porco Rosso aircraft.  Actually they are all great subjects!

That would be GREAT, Jimbo !!!

Also, could you take some "work in progress" photos so that dummies like me can try to emulate your beautiful creations?

All the best,
Richard

Richard...

Do you know if the DABOHAZE is a copy of an actual aircraft?
I am not having much luck finding a three view drawing of it.
I checked Italian and German sea planes to no avail.

Well maybe I can "wing" it. ;D

Thanks,

Jimbo

Hello, Jimbo ...

Here's a pretty good page on the seaplanes  ... Click HERE !!!

I can also do screen shots from the Porco Rosso movie, so that you can have 3 view drawings.

All the best,
Richard
