Opinion on Playmobil Red Dragon
« on: December 23, 2010, 22:37:43 »
Hi All,

It has been quite some time since I've posted here.  I was an avid Playmobil collector about 2 years ago, and started to loose interest.  Recently I looked at the large selection of Playmobil available at Toys r Us, and was interested in some of the Dragon themed Knights items.  One in particular caught my interest http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4107162

I was wondering if anyone could offer their opinion on this Dragon.

I'm thinking this particular style of dragon has problems with its wings detaching constantly during play :hmm:! There are some reviews on this subject on this forum under chicken dragons.
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Yes we call these chicken dragons. I really love them...they are very realistic to me. I hated the firsts cross-eyed, tongue flipping dragons, they looked stupid, so these are really an improvement! I only whish they were a little bigger... I say BUY them!!!!

Thanks for digging that old thread up Wold Knight.  That Dragon looks quite good.  I didn't realize you could pose the head like that either, so I think you've convinced me to pick it up.

I'm glad it's better than the Chicken Dragon.  I actually bought that set when it first came out but disliked the dragon and it's quality so much that I returned it.  Nice to see they didn't make the same mistake twice when designing this one.

I wish the dragon had arms that were not also his wings, or at least extend the wings so that it is the type of dragon that uses its wings to crawl with as well.  This design comes across as an armless dragon with wings that are JUST wings that do not double as arms/legs/claws.

I wonder if one could customize a set of T-rex arms onto it somehow.

And yeah, I wish it was much bigger.  To date I cannot find a suitable playmo dragon to attack my castle that doesn't just look like someone's cute pet lizard.

The black dragon is the best one so far.  love it.
Ahoy, Pirates, Hoist the Colours!

I agree - I hadn't seen the picture of it (b/c I don't have it) until now and this dragon looks so freaking weird :hmm:

I like the old red dragon bettern

I like the original 3840 green, 3327 red, & 5732 black dragons the best! I've got a few of them :-\! Even though I'm a modern, city life construction, etc. collector, I confess I'm converting into a closet medieval collector also :-[!

Technically, you're not in the closet if you confess it...

While I, too, initially resisted the knight theme, I gave in a couple of years ago.  It's hard to resist.
