Metal Playmobil/Playpeople truck
« on: September 22, 2010, 15:29:05 »
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-PLAYMOBIL-RECOVERY-TRUCK-2-PEOPLE-/250700648100?pt=UK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item3a5eec4ea4

When a police van version of this truck came up for auction, and the seller said it was metal and listed it as Playmobil.

I asked him for his conformation, and he said it was stamped Playpeople or Playmobil (I can't quite remember)

I think the rare Playpeople tractor was metal, so they could be Playpeople I am not sure.

Has anyone come acroos this?

Damo :)

Matchbox made atlas trucks as well:

There doesn't seem to be a real-life Atlas truck, but both matchbox's and Mark's 'Atlas' trucks seem to be very similar :-\

And, of course, Marx were the UK licensees for producing Playpeople.

Tonka also made trucks at the same scale ; I have a marvellous big ladder fire-truck in which my vintage firemen did fit very well
