You know what I would LOVE to do...?
Package the parts.
Put all the little pieces together and form the soldier.
But the Bayonet on the Rifle, put on the hat, the feather in the hat, the gun in the klicky's hand... ;D

I would line them up and send them off down the assembly line...
and cry when I see them go away. :'(
Then smile when the new one comes down the line for me to put together! ;D ;D ;D

That would be the greatest job in the world...
Not only that, but I would get an employ's discount on Playmobil!!! :o ;D :o ;D :o ;D

I have a couple of friends who used to work/still work at PM - but since they're not fans, it doesn't mean that much to them. It's just a job. I once toyed with the idea of sending a CV, when I was 16 or so. But I never did.

But seriously - would it be really? For me, it WOULD have been the greatest job in the world ... had I been 7 years old. Thing with PM is this: now that I have enough money to buy as many PM as I want (within reason anyway), I can't play with them - I don't know how to, anymore  ::) I just buy them, put them on display, and just stare at them.

I guess this is what it feels like for Hugh Hefner, down at the Playboy Mansion

To me, really now as it is, it would. ;D
I would love every second.
For me it is just having them,
I don't play with them too much anymore. :'(

But I love setting them up, and then re-setting them up,
And changing around their weapons, their hair... etc etc.

I like to fiddle, and a job where I get to fiddle...

Colonel Klicky, I agree with you completely about the Union and Confederate Add-Ons.  I would buy at least a dozen of your proposed Confederate Add-On packs, with single-breasted tunics, and a dozen of their Union counterparts. :)  There are two sergeants in the redcoats pack too!  I had to remove thier stripes with Bar-Keeper's Friend.

I agree with Bolingbroke, WarriorOfToys, and Shirona that Playmobil almost never seems to produce a "perfect" military Add-On set.  The only exception I can think of is the Roman legionary 3-pack, although they should have been given different hair colors, but every other one I can think of is a disaster requiring mandatory expensive customization.  While I do like to customize my leaders, I'd like to be able to buy pre-made "perfect" rank and file soldiers.

The Romans were great!
Even the hair color thing wasn't that bad... :)
I liked them being all the same that way actually.
Cuz now I can switch around those hairs with whatever other hair I have that I have too much of.
(Like blond hair... ;D Or my recent purchases which had TONS of black haired klickies.)

Now, all my Romans have nearly individual hair, and defiantly not the same color. ;D

I do like the redcoat officer but the pirate prevents from buying the pack in too much numbers.  :(

I'm amazed at how many blister packs are out there, I'd like to see the Roman pack with the legionary and centurion or with the two older specials in store.  :D

If I could make a suggestion for the ultimate blister pack, it would be:

and the German officer from this set (with a bolt action rifle aswell?):

now THAT's worth buying hundreds off.

It wouldn't - how many fatso Prussian officers are you going to have in your army?

*sighs*

Speaking of which - which 'military' klicky is the most recent one, historically? ie close to our time? Apart from police /SWAT ones, of course.

Well, perhaps they could use a normal clicky for German policeman/soldier. (But, who cares, he has a Pickelhaube  :D , wouldn't mind seeing it in a different colour like dark grey or tan  )

As for closest to our time... I think the British guards would be the closest real 'soldiers'. These can be used from the 19th centiry to our modern era.
