¿Is Steck Dead?
« on: August 25, 2010, 17:54:19 »
I’ve been seeing conflicting information on the future of steck, so I’d like a clear answer. ¿Will there be new steck sets? I found a box of them in my fork’s storage, but if steck is actually dead, I’m considering off-loading the lot and converting to SystemX.
If I’m jealous, you did SOMETHING right. Keep it up. :D

Apart from odd items which appear in the DS catalogue and occasional (very occasional?) appearances elsewhere, Steck is no longer produced.  If you want to get rid of your Steck, then you'll find it very easy.  (Indeed, I can send you my address and you can send it all to me!   ;D )

Or me! ;D
Just Kidding.
But yes, as far as we can see into the future, steck is dead.
But there may still be some hope to its return, thanks to the Paymo Collectors Club! :)

But Geobra has not as far as I know, confirmed anything.
I believe the hope that steck will return
Is really us hoping that we can win over Playmobil's good side and get them to reproduce it. ;D
Steck is BACK! <:>

:hmm: I think it could only be answered by Geobra. But couldn't that be something to do for the Club? Bring us back, the Steck!  ;D

That new clip system is like a halfway made Steck. For modularity steck really is the best thing they've come up with for buildings. I can't believe the system x wall pieces use less plastic or are easier to make than a steck wall section, so  i don't see any financial reason for hem to stick with them. I do see where larger pieces like the recent castles can make sense economically for them during production. In the long run though I think the lack of modularity hurts them. Once you get one of the new castles there isn't much else you can do with it. With steck you could add on additional sets, creating return sales.

oh i haden't thought about the economical reasons !  i don't think this is the problem here they are making so many new sets that for being made they have to spend money on the moulds ,and if it has more plasick it would be more expensive too ! these new castles are not that expensive are they ? what's the price of the big one?

What do you mean by dead? Among collectors it is very much alive.
