Yes, I believe Playmobil had that idea when they made them.
It is called a surcoat.

Great Customs by the way.
Perhaps they could be part of an Order of Knights,
Like the Templar Order, except they work for the King.

They accept the best Knights and train them to be like a crack force.

Good references Warrior!!! I knew you'd be the one to give them  ;) !! Thanks for reminding me the word surcoat!!!
Good idea on the order thing...unfortunately I have only these three and they can hardly make an order...

Great custom, did you also try it with the legs from 4339 ?

Brilliant suggestion scan!!! I did notice them but the set has not arrived at the greek market yet...perhaps next year...

Nice customs Wolfie!

I'm not a great fan of the spiky silver collar, if these were mine I'd try something else there, but it works. I'd also try to match the swordbelt color to the brown boots color, but you may be limited by available parts.

I like the yellow eagle figure, and wish he had appeared in other sets. I suppose I could try ordering a bunch via DS, but if I did that for every possible "order of knights" figure I had it'd cost a bomb.

They look great Sir Wolf. I am really wondering what the difference is if you put the other  knights legs on them!

Yes, I wasn't crazy about the spiky silver collar either Martin, But it made more sense to go with the spiky ends of the tunic... you'll get a glmpse of it on the middle knight , right under his swordbelt! If you remove the spiky collar you'll also discover a spiky pattern on the tunic....Somehow nothing else sits well with my eye....

There is a listing on ebay right now for the original 3030 eagle knight....ready to be shocked?

And he does not even has his horse!!!!
So i suppose the DS option is more pragmatic...

you mean the 3899 or the 4339 Gis?

I think that the 4339 fit better, being silver and all...

Those Eagle Knights look good, Panos!  I've always liked this particular knight's heraldry and was fortunate enough to get one thanks to a gracious member of this board.  I'm using yellow surcoat legs on my custom version, but the light blue works very well too.  The new blue and silver surcoat legs might look good too, although the brown is nice for something different.  If you do decide to keep the brown, I second Martin's suggestion to use a brown belt.  Also, I'm not sure about the dark blue feather, as the color is off.
