Here are some more pictures of the buildings.
They were collector glued. Not all of them, just some. You can see as well that interior details were glued into some of them. Furniture and accessories and you can see where some painted feet were placed (and some feet shaped glue marks that indicate where a person stood as well as sat in a chair).
I'm not sure why they were glued (one can only guess) but it could be that since they were supposed to be set up in an entire room display that they were glued to stop them from falling over if bumped while one was going through the room (dusting, moving to vacuum, walking through to look at them, etc). Maybe as the lady got older she got more infirm and would accidently bump them and this was a way to help ensure it would continue to look nice or maybe even to prevent children from making too big a mess.
Sign details:
Sadly a broken sign holder (it can be glued!):
Interior area where you can see glue marks for the table and people.
More detail. Makes me wonder who picked all the stuff off - I can guess but without evidence I will bite my tongue.
You can see the stress markes on these tabs from being pulled apart as they were glued.
Here is a contrast between the original yellow (much brighter even if this photo does not show it too well) and new yellow house pieces which are much more 'banana' yellow in colour.
You can see a bit of extra glue on the green Tailor's house/shop
Here is one way to tie a bucket to ensure it won't come loose.
Evidence of the presence of the 3444. The black pieces are glued on. This is one of the sub assemblies (Thank you for the instructions wolf knight or I never would have known this!!!)
