This is very sad to me, really.... these toys were once someone's pride and joy, and here they are chunked in a box and sold on ebay..... very sad. The same could happen to our collections one day. :-\

I was thinking just the same Bonnie, a wonderful collection, but so sad all thrown together like that.
I do envy you sorting it all out Wesley.

I don't think it is for the Rathaus because that has a sign that read Rathaus. This is on another plastic sign so it must be from another building. (even though Playmobil may have given two sets of decals in the older sets they only gave one item to affix it to so you had to choose)

I bet someone on klickwelt would know.

I am intrigued . I must say in old set there were stickers in different languages and colour background . I have one similar with the nuremberg crest from the tower 3445 that reads Oubliettes or something in grey bakcground with the same nuremberg logo. when you find out let us know sir!
:knight: Steck is Holy . Bring back more steck sets and its guardians , the Nuremberg Guards :knight:

Our monk is NEVER far from the beer. Actually he commandeered the big barrel as soon as he was out of the box!

I envy all those buildings too... Especially the Museum and the tower guard

What stuns me most is the color of the big barrels' "taps". They look silver, but they were never produced in that color, so they must be painted or resin copies.

Actually, metal taps are used today, but were not before the 1900s in my opinion, so the original "wooden" hue is more appropriate for "merry men", but the silver one would look brilliant in Victorian displays....

Some interesting custom paint work. Yes the white horns on the longhorn must be painted. They didn't use any 2 color molding for the longhorns. The hinges on the doors being painted black looks great. It brings out that detail and makes them seem more ornate than they do just plain brown.

As much as I actually felt like teasing by making a joke saying the horns are moulded in a different colour so it must be a factory experiment / promo, yes they are painted.

The barrel spigots even have black painted at the spout to add depth of a hole (a master modeller would drill them out hollow or fabricate new spigots) but these do look nice.

I especially like the hinges painted. Wish they would have come that way from the factory.

Time to head to town today and stock up on zip lock bags and small clear bins.   :)
