Okay, the postman didn't really bring this - but I thought I'd just keep going with this thread instead of making new ones.
There has been a 3750 pirate ship for sale on kijiji here for a while now. They lowered the price so I emailed about it and got it for $20. So, we (three of my daughters and I) went to pick it up last night.
Here is what it looked like this morning:
The next picture didn't turn out as my battery in my ipod died and I lost the picture as it was rendering it ... Anyway, it showed that inside the cabin was the cabin boy (appropriate spot for him), monkey and parrot.
So with everything loose taken off above deck and from below deck (front sail, accessories) it still rattled so off came the deck:
There was so much under there that I had to even remove the lead weight in the bottom of the hull to get a signal flag out that was wedged in there pretty good.

Sadly, (or typically?) the black polyethylene (type of soft plastic that can not be glued) are broken..
Does anyone know if DS would still carry these? Or does anyone have any extras that are not broken?
While typing of broken things. The top of the mast had all three pieces present and amazingly the piece broken off the mast was still there in the bottom so I got out my handy dandy abs glue for Playmobil parts |(that are not polyethylene) and glued them.
Sadly the cannons are the american ones without the springs (in Canada they had ones with springs and ones without so it was hard to know what you were going to get). Eventually they went to no springs for north america as a whole (obviously to save money on shipping and making mistakes of what went where).
Does anyone know of a part number for the springs? I've tried springs from pens but they're not the same ...
The decals on the ship are put on very well - not crooked at all. So I'm not sure what to do with the ship (it's like my 4th or 5th of these). I was thinking of painting it and my daughter said it should be pink for princesses. However, since the decals are so good and pretty much everything is there (what's not like the hull for the rowboat and the pirate with peg leg and the one with the green bandana, the megaphone and telescope I have in spares) maybe I should just restore it to original?
