i saw the whole series of headlamps, keychain flashlights and larger lanterns at REI, an outdoor equipment store here in the states, mostly on the west coast.  they are clever, and actually fairly well made, but still bald and ugly.  at the risk of being banned from the forum, here is the link to rei, the two lanterns, if you look at the specs are about 12" tall.

I've got the giant standing torch Lego fig ( bigger than this one)

But Richard, my whole Lego collection is on ebay at the moment as I want money for more Playmobil LGB trains. (I'm keeping the torch though) ;D

Damo :)

this may also explain why the item is not produced by Lego but by Billund

Hi

What do you mean with that? Produced by Billund ??? Lego's headquarters are located in Billund.

I think any LEGO enthusiast would love that . I used to buy LEGOs also when i was a kiddo , have quite a few sets and some rare knights and space ones from the early 80s. But playmobil is my favourite. Looking at the similar products playmobil creates - key chained klickies etc , i think its a typical toy manufacturer product and the torch ability is a novely . I like it . But prefer playmobil and would rather buy another 3 black lion knights to add to my army that this torch. Its a torch uh   !!!!!
:knight: Steck is Holy . Bring back more steck sets and its guardians , the Nuremberg Guards :knight:

Very nice detective work, Sven ... :wow:

well ... to be honest, Richard ... it wasn't that much of a detective work considering the fact that my mother tongue is German  ;) (and thus I only had to read 'Mini Taschenlampe' to know what the item is ...)

well ... I think I just misunderstood this sentence from Richard:

That afternoon I was told that it was NOT manufactured by Lego. However, it was produced under license from Billund.

You're off the edge of the map, mate. Here there be monsters. hehehe

Well I haven't written much lately, you say?

I respectfully disagree, Sven!

Even though your mother tongue is German, there was a very explanatory illustration (that you so aptly pointed out). So, it could have been written in Swahili ... And, apparently I would have still missed that it was actually a flashlight (torch) masquerading as a key chain.

So, IMHO, you are indeed a great detective, Sven ...

All the best,
Richard
