Talpa-Mole
« on: July 28, 2010, 21:17:29 »
Hello guys,
I'm back from vacations and that's the right time for me to show you another customs that I have done for a small contest... the target of that contest was to create a "steam-Punk" character... This was my first try, but so far, I have been very happy to make that one... Hope you will enjoy this new style!

Great custom, Alizobil!  You have the grittiness of the mole down pat.  What did you use for the finish? Hope you win first prize.

Thanks to all of you for your nice comments, that's encouraging!

Amazing!
But this is a question that has been bugging me for some time.
and everytime I think I have the answer, I dont...

So what is Steam-Punk? ???

Well, I'm not a specialist, but to sumerize, let's say that it is a mixed from victorian style and modern style, most likely futuristic... According to me, what you could see in some drawings in most of Jules Vernes's books are showing some kind of what could be called "steam Punk". During victorian time, there was a lot of steam machines that were used... using those machine but adding some modern parts should at the end turn out something like what I have created... Copper, iron, wood are materials that are mostly used.

I'm pretty sure that you could find much more information about that style on google than what I could explain here...

Anyway, this style is something really fun when it comes to playm's... lot of things can be done!

I'm doing some other small things that I will show you in the future....

OHHHH
Looked it up on Wikipedia, and now Im facinated! :)
I especially like it mixed with a post-apocoliptic twist. Much like your charecter.
A very cool read,
I am even starting a book (probably only a short story, though hopping it becomes bigger)
about a post-apocoliptic world with a very steampunk attitude.
