Fallout.
« on: July 26, 2010, 04:00:47 »
I played Fallout/FO2/FO:T and got to wondering if I could make a Vault Suit klicky. ¿Any ideas?

On a related note… I played Robotech for years (on end), and decided (more or less) that I really want a Tśentrædi Klicky. I figured out that there are at least 02 different sizes of Kilckies. ¿How does one go about getting the over-sized type?

Andy, I do not think many people understand your post here. At least I am not very familiar with a lot of term you use. Can you post some pics to illustrate your query?

I get you-
Fallout- a popular series of post-apocalyptic video games.
Main character typically wears a retro-futuristic jumpsuit with a massive arm computer.
Hmm-  I think this would be a relatively easy custom to someone with talent-  You'd need a klicky in blue- paint on a yellow number, and modify a cuff to make the Pip-boy, maybe with sculpy...
Related, I've meant for some time to use one of the diver specials to customize a Big Daddy from the game Bioshock...

I'd use a black diver's watch for the Pip-boy if I could find one, or the silver one from set 4500. For the main body I'd use a policeman, say the girl passenger from 3907 or the guy passenger from 3908. These look sufficiently one-piece to be wearing a jumpsuit, plus they have pockets for spare ammo. Alternately the policeman from set 5790 with the writing removed from his body armour would be very close to what you need, as he has sufficient weapons and the security helmet with visor. Put his body armor and helmet on the guy from 3908, and you're pretty much there.

If you'd rather have a dark blue jumpsuit and helmet, there are versions in these colors - the 7386 3-man Police set would be a good source of parts.

Oh, geeze… Didn’t occur to me anyone that didn’t know what I was talking about would be interested… (Uh, I did a "duh." )
Coyote nailed the story pretty well (except I never played 3, only 1, 2, and Tactics).
Here are pics:

(Except is should be "13" not "101.")

In Fallout 3 it was Vault 101, and that's the game I'm familiar with.

A Fireman might make a good basis for the vaultsuit, and they already have fluorescent stripes on their uniforms!

As a first attempt, here's the more-or-less unmodified Klicky from SWAT carry case that doesn't appear on Playmodb so I don't know the number (Rasputin might know as he got me these sets), or set 5790 (he doesn't have the arm badge). He wears his Pip-Boy (aka diver's watch) on his left arm.

Swap his body armor and helmet with the right hand klicky from set 7385 (still available in the US), paint 101 on his back, and voila.

Hmmm… Seems good. (Except it has to be “13” not “101” since I’m old school…)

Pretty good rendition of Vault 101 security guard.
Big Fallout fan- 1 & 2 were incredible, though Tactics and the other spinoffs were awful.  Fallout 3 is extremely well done, and I've already preordered Fallout New Vegas, coming out in October, which will continue the story from 1 & 2.  A clever customizer could have a great time with various characters from the games-  BOS Power Armor, anyone?
