No, the person sent to oppose him had 1,100 men with him...
Cortez managed to convince many of them to join him.
So about 1000, because he killed a few in the battle between them.

Not a huge number,
But a couple, like 10? (For me atleast.)

You could also use these: 30 06 3690 - Rifle, flintlock (musket)

Might be better Cav if you switched the arms for armored,
And the Helms for the Morions.
