playmobil "retired " tickets on boxes
« on: July 07, 2010, 17:53:08 »
i've seen on ebay some sets that have on them one ticket that says "retired" and in one box they even placed a ticket with a different number for ex. the park fence 5360 changed it to 7137 see it:  http://cgi.ebay.ca/PLAYMOBIL-5360-7137-MANSION-PARK-FENCE-LAMP-NISB-90-/140422996733?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b1dce2fd

also one other set with the retirement ticket : http://cgi.ebay.at/Playmobil-Merry-Mens-Hideaway-3626-MISB-Retired-/230494717215?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35aa8e451f

very interesting...perhaps the stickers are from playmobil to determine the status of the set...then sold off to retailers so that it would be easier for them to categorise their stock....

When items are withdrawn and then are put in the DS catalogue they are often renumbered to a 7xxx number.

Many years ago when I used to buy sets from DS i have had sets with a similar sticker on, i think it was orange back then , cant remember. This sticker was i believe used for normal bosex sets that were discontinued but for some time sold via DS as 7xxxx codes , as accessories ..... i really cant remember what these sets were, I think western ... not sure though .....  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
