I feel it's more that US companies are more concerned with litigation, because it's a sue-happy society.

I am a child, my brain stopped developing a self-preservation instinct in the womb, so I must be warned about everything that might hurt me. I cannot think for myself, I must be told.

This is why many things (such as medical care) are WAAAY more expensive that they need to be, because the service provider needs to shield themselves against that one idiot who might sue them.

If the legal system threw these cases out of court (with a fine and court costs paid by the initiator), maybe we'd have less of this nonsense, but of course they won't because it'd cut down on their own business.

Unfortunately the UK has been following the US into the litigation-happy style, and now if you have an accident or hurt yourself, you are urged to find someone else to blame for your misfortune or stupidity, with the hopes of making a fortune.

Wait up, I have a bag of chips (crisps) here which don't warn me not to roll the bag into a cylinder and shove it up my nose. I think I'll try it and see if I suffocate. brb

sometimes i prefer my country greece that all the polititians are stealing the money of the country the country is in the middle of nowhere and we must pay because they are ussless. in the us  everything is working perfect if you leave your dog pee on a park you get emediatly a ticket and if you do anything against the law you get punished .because of everything working so well a sue-happy society perhaps exists!! that's what i believe what do you think?

Hi

These annoying labels are trying to eliminate these litigations you despise. If the company knows of a said hazard and they are producing the product they need to inform you of it. If a company makes something with known problems they need to let you know so you can protect yourself . Not all parents know what they are doing (I kid you not) and need to be told what is unsafe. The companies want to do business here and need to follow standards. If we did not have "sue happy" society we would be driving around in death traps and building codes would be nonexistent. You would be taking you chances crossing the road or going in an elevator because nobody could be held accountable for poor craftsmanship or safety codes. It is easy to criticize it now that we have it but if we did not we would be all complaining about our 3rd would standards, that is if we were able to talk, walk or breath  ;)

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Every one,
You just have to learn that for whatever reason,
The US is a society that has deemed itself completely innocent to anything that may or may not cause panic, pain, or loss of something. (Deffinatly not money.)
It is completely stupid, yes, but really they are just overprotective.
And if anyone has tried talking to an overprotective parent,
You will know it is not a battle you will ever win. ::)

This story reimnds me of the time mattel had to recall this batmobile http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/Batmobile_Mattel-01.jpg.... a kid in the US was injured by the wings...

so I call mattel in greece and asked them where could I find the toy, as it was not sold any longer in big toy stores... They were so reluctund to tell me...but once i told them i need it for collecting...they went through their retailers, and called me back with the address of the toy shop that had not yet returned them... so half an hour later i was holding that batmobile....

Indeed. Take off all the labels and silly safety mechanisms I say (not only for America, but for the rest of the world aswell). Let evolution run its course. If you cannot survive the modern hazards, maybe you should not procreate. Back in the old days lions didn't come withe a warning sticker!

Anyone heard of the Darwin awards?
