Steck ...
« on: May 28, 2010, 21:42:42 »
So just before I joined playmofriends I bought a 3667 and a 3665. I also had an assortment (slightly bigger then a 3888) delivered earlier this week. But today my first 3666 arrived.

So tomorrow I will be starting experimenting with things. See what I can built and where the Steck will lead me.

I just thought I'd share because without this forum the Steck fever wouldnt have bit me. I also bought some new small blue boxes and instead of the usual 1, I decided to follow many people ways (here at least) and buy several of some.

So even though you guys have made me "invest" a lot of money in Playmobil, I am doing it with a HUGE grin on my face.

Thanks all!!!

Glad to see others having cought the ' Steck fever'. . .

  Highly contagious!  Handwashing, face masks, antibiotics are useless!  Quarantine just gives you more time to think about buying more sets!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Steck, Gis!  And congratulation on your recent acquisitions - they will start you off beautifully!   :)

OK people picture time!

The first picture shows "My first 3666" it's not fully complete, but it's mainly about the Steck anyway right?

The second picture shows our kitten Stip (12 weeks old), who is playing the monster in the castle.

In the Third picture our other cat, Zouly, decided he also wanted in on the action and conquered the castle from Stip. Also in this picture you see some other recently acquired PM.

And then this morning I finally got to play around with my steck and decided to for the main entrance + Inn of the Grand City.

Basically within minutes I felt the pain some of you have expressed over there not being a 4-way connector piece. It would really make life easier!

I dubbed the Inn the Mug and Sword. Still need to work on properly displaying the name somewhere.

The first picture gives an overview, whereas the second focuses more on the main gate as well as the from of the Mug and Swords.

I plan to make all walls double although the 3666 Main Gate is really a hard piece to work with because it is not easily adaptable. As you can see I very short on flooring so that is something I need to work on. That and the fact that I have nothing left and am barely at 10% of the project *grin*

The first picture shows the layout under the fortification that seperates the kings palace and the rest of the town. As the in is only 2x6 I leeched some extra room from beneath the fortification. Behind the double door will be the big barrel from the Merrymens Feast. Still debating about the exact layout of the inn.

The second pic shows the back of the Mug and Swords.

The third pic is taking from the town square and you can see the stairs leading up to the guestrooms of the inn. The red building on the left will be the Smithy, but I just put the building down as is for now.

Thats it for now. Two more castles and some random "lots" arriving soon for more building pleasure.
