There are some small differences should you get the parts with the ship.

The flags are different early flags are flat plastic on V1 and wavy plastic on V2's.

Also early V1s came with the painted gold plastic lanterns, V2's have gold plastic ones.

When ever I get any 3550 / 3750's I take the ship apart and remove the weight in the bottom, I have offten found coins, weapons, cuffs and other items trapped under the weight.
I'm only human, born to make mistakes.

ah, ah, the possibility of a hidden treasure - a very good idea sir gareth.  ;)
unfortunately i got my 3750 bnib - no hidden treasure for me.  :'(
i suddenly remembered one of hergé/tintin albums - le secret de la licorne - where the inside of a mast kept secret an encrypted message indicating the place where a treasure was hidden.
it still is one of my favourite books, together with "le trésor de rackam le rouge".

Lars, check out this eBay auction #160398239611 for the accessory Pirate ship sail set #7614. This may help replace a couple of sails if you are missing some.
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

sir gareth is totally right about the small difference in the flags and "golden" elements (not only the lamps but also the megaphone, the telescope, the sabre swords and the spoon).  :yup:
i feel so ashamed to let a "knight" be the one to remember this instead of a "pirate"...  :-[
i have 2 extra images of the 3750/3053 where you can see the 2 different flags.
  :)

@ Sir Gareth: I'm taking it apart when I have it, so I'll look for the hidden treasure...  ;)

@ Bill Blackhurst: thanks for the link to eBay for the sails. Quite expensive though. Aren't these available through DS and a little cheaper?

@ cachalote: thanks for the images.

This noon I have made a list of all the parts of the set with info I got from the building plan (thanks to playmofire) and PlaymoDB (3750 and 3053). But now I have some other questions...

In PlaymoDB following parts are like this :
Lantern
3750 : 30 02 754 - Lantern on post (brass)
3053 : 30 02 754 - Lantern on post (brass)

Rifle
3750 : 30 06 607 - Rifle, flared muzzle (dark brown)
3053 : 30 06 369 - Musket (dark brown)

Golden Elements
3750 : 30 61 427 - ladle, telescope, megaphone (brass)
3053 : 30 61 056 - ladle, telescope, megaphone (gold)

* Does someone have the part number for the "Lantern on post" in paint gold like the other golden elements?
* Are the 2 rifles the same?
* I'd like to order also the first set of klickies. In the DB the part numbers are marked as unknown. But when I klick on them I find numbers k3382, k3750a, k3750b, k3750c. Can I order them with these numbers? Or are the figures discontinued.
* If someone has a list for the ship, I would love to have it. Like that I can compare if I have everything.

You guys are so great and helpful!!!

Th eonly lantern I've found in "shiny gold" is 30 02 6000 - Lantern on post, almost certainly discontinued... there haven't been gilded parts like this for many years.

They're certainly the same shape, so they should have the same names: I will change them, thanks for the heads-up.  However, on closer examination it seems that some of the sets that include 30 06 3690 - Musket look like they have black guns, and some others, brown ones.  I will investigate.

From the PlaymoDB FAQ:

What does "unknown part #" mean, or those part numbers starting with "p" or "k"?

There are parts that I'd really like to include in an inventory but I have little chance of finding out the part numbers, most often due to age and rarity (the Victorian klickies are a good example). I create a "fake" part number to anchor the part, and supply a photo if I can. These unofficial numbers cannot be used to make Playmobil part orders, and will only confuse the poor customer service rep.

Hope this helps! I can't imagine these old klickies are still available, but if you do get them, or even find out their part-numbers, let us know!
PlaymoDB.org has catalogued over FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND parts in more than 6100 sets. Come and visit to find any set or part numbers you need to know!

They maybe available, but you need to call your supporting DS department & ask. They have been discontinued in the current AddOn accessory booklets that showed them a few years back. If you notice they are not solid plain white like the ones shown on the 3053/3750 box pictures, but can be used as replacements if exact replacements can't be obtained as a last resort. Just remember that money is not a concern when refurbishing a Playmobil project or adding sets to your collection, just ask your wife :hissyfit:, I'm sure she'll agree !

Hi Larryman,
I just wanted to let you know that I have found a source for the original discontinued Pirate ship sail kit & mast rigging kit! The price will shock you, but if you consider they are no longer produced, & these are new old stock, I wouldn't scream too loud ! PM me if you want to know the source email address.

The sail kit 7310 is $40.00 USD.

The rigging set 7311 is $30.00 USD

And if you want an original MIB 3053 Pirate ship they have them too, but they will put you back $425.00 USD each :o!
