Regarding "rare" sets on eBay.....   If the seller does not provide a picture of the actual item you are bidding on be VERY careful.  There are a truckload of people selling "NIP" [new in package]  sets - especially in the Victorian theme.  How a person can have 10 Victorian kitchens that are "NIP" without boxes is a mystery to me.... :hmm:  I have researched certain sellers and know that they are somehow repackaging loose bits and calling them new.  It's amazing to me that people pay as much as they do for some items  ???

I have sold sets that were purchased as add-ons and packaged in bags.  I always show a pic of the actual item and make it very clear in the description that the item is bagged and new.  An example is the Medieval house - 7109.  I recently sold one on eBay and provided pics of the item as well as the actual Playmobil product number.

All I can say is WATCH OUT!!!

Alexi the astraunauts are wearing boots. They have the same feet as the gold klicky (its a mummy actually) and the boots are accessories to add on them. So its the same...

I thought he was referring to the top of the lower body, the top of the trousers.  On the astronauts this is flat but on the mummy figure it is curved (inflated).  This is a distinction between the old and new figures, but when Playmobil re-issued, for example, the old, small fire ladder truck, the figures issued with it were as per the originals - flat at the top of the trousers.

One can pretty much tell whether the item is "new" or "vintage" by looking at the butts.  I took a bunch of pics and have them in an album on Photobucket for anyone who is interested...

I do not know for sure if "reproductions" carry the same markings as the originals but I highly doubt it...  The newer klickys have little squares on their butts or no marking at all:

Older klickys have circles or letters and numbers:

But I think that the re-issued figures use original moulds.  I'll see if I have any of the re-issued blue firemen still.
