Yours is much better than mine :(
The slimline lights look good probably because you have the nice red to accept them whereas I had to go with grey otherwise it all looked far too white! How did you get the red winch and bars at the front - I am pressuming you painted them? :hmm:

Thank you for the positive compliment, flatcat! No, they are not painted. Use 30204330 brush guard, & 30615190 or 30606700 red winch and 30807800 cable with 30807810 hook, or a 1 piece cable/hook 30819250.

Thanks Gordon, that would be great :)

Here are details of possible products for creating the livery for your water carrier.

From the motoring accessory shop I bought at some time some self-adhesive stripes called Ricardo Roll Stripes.

From model shops you should be able to buy rolls of self-adhesive stripes called Trinline.  They come in a range of colours, including red, and each roll consists of 8 x 2.5m lengths, one length of each of 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.3mm, 2.1mm, 3.3mm, 5mm, 7mm and 10mm widths, so you have plenty to work with, both in length and widths.  If you can't get them locally, try mail order/internet order from:

W Hobby Ltd
Knight's Hill Square
LONDON
SE27 0HH

The code for red Trimline is TR3.  (There website is not the greatest for finding stuff, hence the code.)

Another possibility is waterslide transfers.   I buy from Mabex and they do a set of mixed red lines reference 478g which would do the job.  They are high quality waterslide transfers although some of them are rather old and the carrier film has yellowed a bit.  This can be bleached by leaving them sheet of decals in the sun for a few days.   The widest line on the sheets is 5mm and I only use the narrower lines, so you could have the wide lines if you want.  They are just under 13cm long so if you measure up how many you need for your water carrier, I'll pop them in the post.

I will try the local motoring shop for trimline when I go into town on Saturday, but if I have no luck I may have to call upon your kind offer of the waterslide transfers :)

Thanks, Gordon :)9

I used red automotive pinstriping for my custom T1 & T2 water transport tankers that I showed you earlier. It works really well for this type of application, & is easy to work with.
