I've mixed my Vikings, Barbarians, and Gauls all together into one large group and customized them, so their colors are all mixed up.

Brilliant idea Justindo!!! These groups tend to overlap... I like keeping a brown color to my Gauls tought (based on their shields set 7924) and the purple to the barbarians...I really have great trouble with the vikings. I have not yet attempted to customise as i do not feel the need to..but there are a few figures, especially one from set 3152, that looks more like a gaul rather than a viking....and the pattern on the 3158 viking frontman is repeated in a few purple barbarians    ??? ??? ??? :eh?: :eh?: :eh?:

I think another idea you could use, (one that I often use for situations like these)
Is that the Green belted Barbarien is the leader of all the purple Barbariens.
All the foot soldiers are purple,
Then you deck out your green belted Barbarien in all green and keep him as your leader.
That way he is different because he is "special."

That is anothe interesting idea WarriorOfToys  :)9... I'll look into it and let you know what happens (although i have already chosen a fat barbarian klicky as a barbarian leader and have already dressed my gaul leader in green and blue....) but it still worths a try ;)

I've decided that my Viking/Barbarian/Gallic "horde" will serve many functions.  They'll be Dacians, Gauls, Germans, and Britons for my Romans and Vikings, Scots, and Welshmen for my Medieval knights.

What do you think? Will he pass a ''barbarian leader''?? After WarriorOfToys's idea....

And just to sum up a very nice custom scenario....
This group of Gauls encountered the barbarian group...the Gaul that killed the barbarian chieftain in battle kept his belt as a trophy..... (so we actually have two klickies right now and none of our  groups have any complaint )

How does that sound???

A big THANK YOU to all of you for your wonderfull suggestions and contributions!!!!

In your Barbarian Group picture I think the blonde fatty to the right of your leader actually looks more like the leader, because he has better armor, but it's a matter of personal choice.

The "leader" may be one who sits and waits, watching a battle and only joining in if and when his presence would shift the balance of the fight. In this case he may opt for slightly more comfortable attire, and leave his warmaster in the better armor to lead the battle from the front.

Thank you for your feedback Martin!!! and to tell you the truth, the klicky you are pointing out is, by my standards the group leader...he has the looks, you are right, and i believe he has the skills and personality. Judging from his eye patch, he must have seen (and lost his eye for it) a lot of action...this klicky is not customised and comes from set 4435 barbarian ruin. If you check the inventory of this set in playmoDB you'll see that he is actually the barbarian chieftain...so playmobil gets gredit for a very good design!!!!

Having said that, and thinking about a leader always being dressed up and ready for battle, and although i like your theory, i'll dismantle the green barbarian and i'll keep the green belted gaul in his group. I find it easier to look upon him since i added a bit more green color to my gauls...

Nice customs and pictures, Wolf Knight!  I like your green klicky in general, but I do agree with Martin that the other klicky looks more like a leader due to his more extensive armor and battle scars.  I'm also not sure I like the green klicky mixed in with all the purple klickies, as he looks not like the leader of the group but from a different faction entirely.

On the whole, your purple barbarians look much more fantastical than your Gauls, due to the former's helmets.  Your Gauls look quite authentic and the different helmet (the Viking-style one) helps distinguish the leader.

I distinguish my chieftains not by making them more heavily armored than their warriors, but by giving them gold accessories rather than silver.  This, of course, is not really authentic, as the the cheiftains would have iron swords, helmets, and armor and would be more heavily armored than their warriors, but it's Playmobil and it works for me. :)
