Hi everyone,
well I love the pirate theme and as I havent got the new ship I've gone mad and bought the display from ebay, but now I've heard it's glued together I'm kinda worried. :-\

Even if the sets are a bit gluey, it is an excellent way to get a whole theme at an excellent price :)9

Just noticed that they have been very naughty in the listings by showing  all the sets for a theme in the pic and saying its the theme, but in the text you only get the 3 main sets which make up the display, but I suppose if you only want the 3 sets then that is still a bargain even if they have glue on them :)

They use epoxy two-part glue and this is fairly easy to remove without damaging the models.

I wish playmobil hellas would do the same. There are lots of display sets that end up in the trash from various toy stores all around greece. or they are being kept by the toy shop employers for their children to play and then be trown away.

question: is this glue silicon based?

Had a replay from Playmobil U.K. Payment is by cheque or postal order only.

In the past they used a hot glue gun to fix the items together the same way as I do for the layout.
If it is like mine you can pull apart most of the items and clean them up.

Just looked at their sellers page as I was thinking of making a purchase, and found that they have suddenly got no items for sale anymore, and by looking they haven't got any feedback even though they have sold loads of sets :hmm:

This all seems a bit suspicious what with the cheque only business as well. They had at least 5 of each theme left yesterday, and now have none (unless someone has bought them all!)

I would love to know how you get on Emma, as I would have bought one as well this morning if there were any left to buy.

Got this message from ebay this morning saying that the auctions have been removed, message is longer I've just copied the first bit but goes on to say about what to do if I'd already paid

180484968804 - PLAYMOBIL PIRATE DISPLAY MATERIAL (NEW)

'was removed from eBay for breaching of one or more of our listing policies. Any offers or bids that you placed on this listing are now null and void; you don't have to complete this transaction.

This listing was removed because it was listed incorrectly; therefore, the seller is free to re-list the item in the correct format. If you want to, feel free to bid on the item again if it's re-listed.'

Could it be because they did not have Paypal as a payment option?

Hi I got the same message.
I'm going to ring playmobil just to make sure they don't re-list mine. Like Duckman I think it's because they wont accept paypal.

Hi
I've just spoken to Playmobil, their listing were removed by ebay for not having paypal. If you just post off a cheque with a description of the item they will still send it out. The lady I talked to said it was a lot of hassle as they didnt want to set up paypal as they only had a few of these items to sell. So it looks like this may be the only lot of displays they offer - mores the pity!

Even companies have to follow eBay protocol if they want to benefit from the Global marketplace eBay has created.

I hope they set up a Paypal account and relist the unsold sets.
