Easter Sunday at the Mansion
There is excitement in the air today as Easter Sunday High Tea at the Mansion marks the opening of the Victorian Social Calendar.
Springtime in England not only dresses parks and gardens with soft shades of pinks, blues and greens but also the Ball Room of the Mansion specially decorated for the occasion.
The Upper Crust of Victorian Society is gathering here in Hyde Park this afternoon to discuss the latest gossip over a cup of tea. While distinguished Gentlemen are admiring the fine English landscape painting, Ladies dressed in the latest fashion are undulging in a selection of cakes to die for.
Large bouquets of flowers are filling the air with a sweet lilac fragrance, the silver tea set is polished to perfection and the best china is on the table with matching napkins under a shiny brass chandelier.
A bust of our beloved Queen Victoria presides over this jolly Assembly and the Maid is as always perfectly efficient and stylish.
Easter Sunday High Tea at the Mansion will surely be featured in the next issue of the Delineator and the Strand...yet another success for the Lady of the Mansion.
