BARGAIN OF THE WEEK!
« on: March 18, 2010, 15:56:05 »
I paid £10.49  ($15.92) on ebay on Sunday for this - (advertised as Knights and Castle spares) ......

and ..............this..................... .............. ;D

The gallery photo was of the knights etc in picture 1 and unless you really looked at the second picture it looked as if the castle spares were only the few bits in with the knights when in fact there are 113 castle pieces -

the auction ended around 10am on Monday morning too which really helped. Some of it's a bit discoloured, but it's steck!  ;D ;D   :yippee: :yippee: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Together with this house I got a couple of weeks ago for £9.99 I'm one happy bunny  ;D  ;D
It ended on a Sunday evening and I was the only bidder! - it was advertised as a medival house - just shows the importance of learning to spell! :D

I think it's probably from the castle but with some changes - what do you think?
I don't mind what it is, it's my first timber framed house.  Hopefully the first of many  ;D

9p that's a good price +shipping or with shipping ?

i think the house is from the catalogue with the extra sets ,not of any castle or set. but it's clean and nice ,  usually the original sets are old  and they turn  brown if they are not in the box. many sellers change  the dirty part's with some new from the extra catalog so more people will bid. you can find many of these houses in the extra catalogue (in good i can say prices 30 euros in greece)i think at the time there is a blue a yellow one and the classic white one in greece on the funpark

  When I only saw the first picture I didn't think much of your bargain, but with the second picture suddenly I saw your point!

That's a great price for that load of steck, and if you can use the figures and bits all the better! The lanterns and their sconces should certainly prove useful, and there's some useful hats in there.

The Medival (sic) house could be the add-on version, but more likely it's from the 3666 castle, both have three solid walls on the ground floor, but the add-on single houses have dormer on both sides of the roof, and not the open roof panel, or at least the current crop do. The House with Barn still features the open roof panels on one side.

That's not a bad buy at all.

looking at the parts I'm almost certain that what you have there is an almost complete 3446 small castle. The big clue there is the cockerel weather vane, it was also used on the watch tower 3445 but you have to many parts plus the double gates for it to be 3445.

So it's a really good price for a castle.
