Small Victorian Shops
« on: March 17, 2010, 02:00:59 »
Hi all
well if you've been following my other topic you'll all know I'm working on a collection of Victorian Shops. My plan is to do a full street of all different types of shops that match.  0)

So far I've used a one story Victorian Mansion with a conservatory front as the shop front. This makes a nice building but with two floors it's quite a large area to fill up with things. So I've been toying with a smaller one room shop. I've been thinking of this build for years  ??? but it was only recently that the answer hit me after buying the Golden Nugget Saloon, that was to use it's base.  ::)

Thank you Richard for the advice about the train station bases, I've found a few on eBay and I can't wail to see if they will fit my medieval buildings!  :wow: :wow:

So this topic will hopefully be updated every few weeks with a new building if time allows, finishing off with a complete street scene which I shall use in a video.

So here is my first building  :HM: what does it say about me that the first to spring to mind is a PUB  ;D

Excellent attention to detail as always Emma! A beautiful start to what will prove a fascinating and delightful series.

I particularly like the bell for ringing "time", and the pelmets over the windows, a very typical Victorian touch and color. Ideally there would be some stained glass in the windows. Victorians loved stained glass and many London pubs still have original Victorian stained glass windows, but that would be very hard to do so I imagined it!

For those wondering about the name, there are two Wilton Arms in London, one in Knightsbridge and one in Fulham.
