Is that one of yours ?

Rasputin "The Mad Monk"

No! The photo was taken at a show in Germany. I'm sure that Macgayver remembers who built it. I have forgotten ...  :-[

... your castle is stunning and like you said you were going for an esthetically correct and romantic design and you in my opinion you hit the nail on the head.

Rasputin "The Mad Monk"

That was a very nice compliment, Ras! Thank you!

I've emailed David. I hope he stops by and reads the comments.

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

The castle is huge! Larger then I has expected!!!
I wish there was a smily for fainting,
because I almost did when I saw this castle from a blown out veiw!

Quote from: Rasputin...
Designing a castle is not as easy as it looks.

Oh? Let me at that steck, Ill show you how easy it can be!
No I understand the limitations of Playmobil... but still... 8}

Beautiful Castle! BEAUTIFUL!

Haha! I could aim for it, but I'm not sure I have quite enough Steck parts yet  :-[

Richard, I think Thornrose Castle hit the nail on the head as a believeable real castle. There's an inner and outer bailey, the outer bailey being occupied by several houses forming a small adjoining town. Many English walled cities with castles grew like this, and as the whole structure is developed over decades if not centuries, it never stays a regular shape. I would be delighted if I could build something as believeable as this.

However my intention is to have several smaller castles and fortified towers, with perhaps one walled town with an adjoining castle, but probably not as big as Thornrose. Only six weeks now until our move, so not too long to wait to see how I can expand to fill the space available.

Martin, thank you so very, very much for your thoughtful comments and your exceptionally generous compliments ...  :-[

We call that the "goldfish syndrome", Martin ...

You will surely "expand" to the size of your "bowl" ...  ;D

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

Yes, the comedian George Carlin once said of 'Stuff' (which surely includes Playmobil!), that stuff is actually a liquid: it expands to fill the space available.

But oh to have that much 'liquid', and that much space!

Cheers,

AndrewL

One of our family's favorite comedians. We really miss him!
However, wherever that irreverent fellow found his final resting place, he no doubt has them rolling in the aisles ...

But, it's endless, Andrew ... There's never enough space ...

All the best,
Richard
