Look what the post man (almost) brought
« on: February 12, 2010, 21:45:22 »
Hello

Well the post man did not actually deliver it but he left me a card to go and pick it up at the USPS distribution center (it was heavy and big). It came all piled in a large computer box with out any packing material  >:( Many of you know how I just love these types of purchases, and now the boys are really liking sorting it all out as well. It has to be our favorite way of buying Playmobil. It is like some sort of treasure hunt. I am willing to pay a premium on these auctions in the hopes of finding odd gems. Here are the pictures on what I was bidding for.

If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Wow!  Nice haul, Rasputin!  There are a lot of useful parts there.  I'd love just one of those teepees!

Another exciting bargain there, Ras.  Well done!

From this batch there were some items missing like a roof from silver springs, pins for the stage coach & buggy, some rocks from the island, the bar for the pig roast and other items I hope to get from DS

Here is the second batch of stecks and knights. I was happy to expand my chrome collection. Missing were a roof section from the timbered house, and one hat and band from the crew of the schooner. I was at least glad that there were 3 of them as I only saw one in the auction picture

The 3rd batch. The fort will be useful for incorporating into the other themes as the ones in the western layout are already too large. Not much missing structurally from this.  There were a lot of extra bits that are always welcome. This was a fun lot but nothing that really stood out as rare or needed odd parts. We still had a great time sorting it and fixing up all the Klickies. There were actually a dozen more Klickies, a monkey and a few kids that were just common folk .

I think my favorite part was one hat. I am not sure what it is called but it is brown and on the klicky in the second batch with the light blue overalls

That is an awesome haul, Ras, even though there was nothing particularly rare.  I envy you the fun of sorting it all out with your boys - I bet they had a blast.  My sorting is only done solo, now, as my kids are "too old" now.   :'(

I think the hat you like may be a bowler hat, like this one from Playmodb:  30 05 2850 - Bowler hat
