Good, but not necessary.

If your control is analogous (all playmobil transformers and also the jumbo transformer are analogous), all locos will run the same direction at nearly the same speed.

You have to think about, what you need or what you want.
3 locos are not much. The length of track (not: truck; a truck is a lorry/car) is not (so) important, only if you have e.g. 200 m (then the electrical voltage decreases).

But if you want to control them seperately you need the possibility to stop them e.g. with isolators 4373 [KLICK!] or with signals/switches or you could control them digitally (you need then a decoder for every loco and a command station + transformer).

I have a couple of 4373 now and I am currently working on the layout of my tracks and wating for 12 x 1200mm LGB tracks to arrive also . after that i will set my full layout and might buy also buy  a G scale bridge to put in the garden ( or better make one as i have all the tools  and some experience for some basic woodcraft )

I really like the JUmbo box , looks so awesome, i am looking for its instructions and i might decide to get one after all . it wil most certainly support well the running of my 4052 i suppose !!!

So here is anotehr train question for the experts here who are always willing to help

Is there a diffrent engine block than the orginal two engines used in the 4052 that can be directly used and replace the existing engine blocks in the 4052 ? is there such a block made by LGB and if so wil it support the lights of the 4052

Is it difficult to replace the engine  block of the 4052 with a new identical playmobil engine block ?  is there a link or instruction somewhere as how to do this ???

Hi,

there is only one engine block used within all the variations of locos (4034, 4050, 4051, 4052 4053,...) As far as I know the engine have not been produced by LGB.
All engine blocks used within Playmo locos have two small pins on top of the engine which are connected to the light.

The replacement of the engine block depends on the loco. It´s quite easy on 4050 and 4051.
Due to the light it´s a little bit more effort in the 4052.

Turn around a loco and look from the bottom. There are two plastic snapers which are holding the engine.
Slightly push these snappers and release the engine. Only take care about the additional weights in the enigine block and the wires of the light.

schluss

Thanks Schluss !!! Do you think its worth replacing the engines in my  4052 with new ones , will it make any difference with performance or keep the ones i have and save me the spare engine blocks ( new ) i have ?

I wonder if anyone can fit a LGB engine block in a playmobil train, if that is possible , if it has been tried and if its worth doing . MInd you i think the 4052 i got is a very fast train indeed !!!!!!!!

Hi ,

I do not beleive that the exchange of the engine would lead to a (significant) change in performance.
I´ve have checked both engines before selling the loco, they are in a very good condition.

It could happen after a long time using the loco under high load that the metallic slider must be replaced.
In the paper box of the loco is an explosion drawing of the engine itself.

New (unused) spare engine blocks are nearly impossible to find. If it may become necessary to change the engine, then I would try to buy another loco somewhere and only use the engine...

Everything is straight forward constructed and can be easly replaced.
