Snowplough in action
« on: December 22, 2009, 15:55:53 »
We've had lots of snow here, up to 6 inches in the garden, and I had hoped to get and do some PM photography but a sinus infection put paid to that.  Anyway, here's a little taster of some photos inside with a rescue story to follow later.

Beautiful scene setting Gordon  :wow:! I agree with Tim, that your artificial snow is very convincing :yup:! Did you use hobby snow fabric  ???? I also like your retired construction truck being retrofitted with the new snow plow blade, well executed  :)9!

Thank you all for your kind comments.

I used a roll of ordinary cotton wool, Bill.  I've never heard of hobby snow fabric, but I'll look it up in the net to see if there's any local supplier so I can see some.  I was surprised how realistic the cotton wool looked.

Thanks, Bill, comments on the snowplough conversion, Bill.   The early Playmobil trucks (not the klicky ones) are a favourite of mine, the construction one especially.  I've got two of them, one a trade with Little Jo and the one in the picture which I got on eBay.  I hope to do some photos of my truck collection some time for PF.

The texture of that cotton wool is amazingly realistic and so simple!  :wow:

The snow fabric is popular @ this time of year due to the holidays, & I've seen it used in small Dickens Christmas city displays more commonly! I really like your material better, due to it looking exactly like a heavy wet snow, so on a scale of realism it gets an 8 compared to the snow fabric getting a low 6! I would like to see your PM truck collection in the future!

Hi Gordon  :elf:

I too really like your use of fabric for the snow. It is very convincing and probably a lot easier to clean off the table when you are done  ;).

Thanks for sharing your nice little set up
