My name? Well...

I was originally trying to think of a name for my YouTube account...
I was thinking along the lines of Toy and Soldier or Warrior as I knew I was going to produce Playmobil stopmotion films.
So I picked the name Warrior Of Toys. As I make movies of Toy Warriors.
After I chose that for my YouTube name I made a few friends
and I liked being called Warrior Of Toys, It has a certain ring to it... ;D

So when I joined PF I thought,
"What better name then Warrior of Toys, as it is a Playmobil forum."
So I chose it, and even now I choose the same name for unrelated things just because I like it so much.

But seeing as how Warrior of Toys is a lot to type,
I also don't mind being called WOT, or Warrior.

And that's where my name comes from.
Steck is BACK! <:>

Well, I choose the name socrates because of...
...yes you are right:
The famous Brazilian soccer player Socrates.
He is a cool guy who became a medical doctor during his active time as a professional soccer player, I like this.  8-)

And all this time, I thought you named yourself after the ancient Greek physician.

Mine is who I really am, nothing fancy :-[! I tried to think of a clever character name for my avatar, but realized my lastest avatar represents who I really was years ago when I enjoyed being an adrenaline junky , so Bill Blackhurst my actual name, has stayed my PMF screen name with nothing fancy added ;)!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Actually, I had first my avatar, which is a slightly changed klicky from one of my favourite fun sets: 3868 - Street Cup Arena

And he appears to be very similiar in character. Just like me.  ;)
(well, at least I try to play soccer during my active time in academia...  :-[)
This is why I decided to take socrates as my username.

best,
socrates

When I needed a e-mail adres it appears that the things we came up with were already taken.
So, we took the first letters of my wife's maiden name (BOGaers) en the the first of my name (GROothuis) and that turned into Bogro.
Count was taken from my favourite set from my childhood: the Count with the table -

Somehow that name stuck more to me then to my wife - so I am definitly Bogro now and know as such on a number of sites and forums.

My other name is Mark - but as I seem to be using both, I can't really say which is the real name (allthough Bogro seems to be a little more mischievous)

Bogro
... and then dusk came and brought despair.

Hi Anne!

I suspected your username was based on Indiana Jones.  Do you have any photos of the scenes from the Indiana Jones movies?

"Indianna" is a very fitting name, especially since your father was born in Indiana.  It's clever, and much friendlier sounding than "Madame X."

Hi Dan - I am glad that this thread got bumped up as I hadn't realized until now that I never answered your question!  Unfortunately, the only pictures are in my memory - that was back before we had a digital camera and before I belonged to any Playmobil forums, so I didn't really know I should be taking pictures.  I don't think our scenes would have made very good photos, anyway, because they were always in use for play and often in various stages of decay (my son used to keep a whole bunch of softish indoor balls in his room and he used the assembled castles as targets!  ::)

BTW I never liked myself as Madame X - too snarky!   ;D  Indianna definitely feels like a better fit.   :)

Well, after all, I guess his parents did! :)
