Playmobil COLOR, Replacement markers?
« on: October 25, 2009, 17:55:30 »
Hi guys,
I recently got this sethttp://www.collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3606.htm in a big lot of playmobil. I like it a lot, sadly two parts are missing. Currently I am bleaching the yellowed parts and after that I plan to paint them with markers, but sadly I don't have any playmobil markers, are there other brands (from Europe preferably) that can be used?

wow highlandcattle, a 3606.  :o
some years ago i decided that i was not including the color pirate sets in my wish list.
one of the reasons was the markers.
sometimes there are some for sale on german ebay but i guess, being so old (even if they were never used), that they will be useless.
i am sure there are new markers that "work" on playmo-plastic - i forgot its composition but i am pretty sure there is a thread somewhere where BASF or some other chemical company talks about this.
good luck.

Javel

Isn't Javel regular bleach, like Clorox in the US?  Could you please tell us the details such as what dilution with water (if any) and the amount of time the bleach is left on the plastic?

The results look fabulous, HC!   :wow:

I used regular La Croix Javel (which i think is the most famous brand here in Belgium) with Pinetree smell  ;D.
I used the stuff pure in a special pot, so I can reuse the bleach again. It is very bad for the enviroment so I refrain from using it in the household.I left it for two days in there

Arab warrior: I'm not looking to complete it. I'm looking for replacement markers :prays:
