Wonderful upgrade, Sylvia ...
And, BTW ... your Nessie's splendidly brilliant ...
Thank you!
I was surprised that in the "about us" section, that when you mentioned the closed Guestbook, that you didn't tell your visitors about PlaymoFriends ...
Ah. Good point. I have the link on the home page, but I should add something there too...
I loved your 'Nessie' story, the scenery was wonderful and the dialogue amusing! I was particularly impressed by your piper (its such a shame that Playmobil don't make a figure in a kilt) and his bagpipes. I must show my son tomorrow as he tried to make some pipes, but nothing as impressive as yours - what did you use for the bag part? Elaine
Hi Elaine,
Thank you for the compliments on the Nessie story. I'm glad you enjoyed the scenery and that it brought back happy memories of a visit to the highlands!
The photos for the story were shot several years ago (Summer 2003, I think) but it took me about a year to get around to making the pages.
While I was upgrading the site, I decided to make opening pages for each story. The scotsman figure, "Mac," was not my creation. He was made by David Hamer, my partner at Just For Klicks. (I have now added the credit to the title page - something I should have thought to do before.
) The bag for the pipes was modelled from milliput. I believe the other parts, such as the drones and chanter, were made from wooden cocktail sticks which probably would have been inserted into the milliput before it hardened to achieve a good fit.
Interesting tale about Mac... from humble beginnings as a milkman (so I'm told), he has climbed the celebrity ladder and become something of a klicky superstar. At the moment he is living it up in France, where he was sent for another photoshoot. He appears on one of the pages of Richard Unglik's Playmobil book,
La Grande Aventure des Animaux. (see attachment).
When you visited Loch Ness, you might have seen a piper named Murdo Urquhart who played regularly for the tourists near the castle during the summer months. Sadly, he
passed away earlier this year.
