I've seen the game trailer, and it looks and sounds great. There seem to be a lot of recognisable Playmobil parts, and some cool enviable steck parts too  8-)  8-)

It's an online RPG, so there must either be a game you can buy in the shops, or a download, to get started. This looks much more the sort of game I might play, especially compared to their recent Nintendo DS effort, though I don't actually play any online games.

I find it confusing that many of the things showing in the trailer are no longer available to purchase direct from Playmobil - such as some of the old houses or the Viking ship. Surely that's a bit of a marketing no-no?

Martin

I had exactly the same thought with regards to the houses when I watched the trailer  :yup:.

I think it looks great. Though I'll probably not play it, as I'm not a RPG player. Which won't stop me from having a look if I can.

This looks like a wonderful game!

Good point, but the virtual world they are building definitely wouldn't be as exciting or captivating if they were limited to using only parts/figures from the sets in the shops. They have to use everything they have at their disposal if they want to make something that will be on a par with their gaming competitors.

People will have to hunt harder to find older retired sets shown in the game, and of course Playmobil won't profit very much from that, but it could get them hooked enough to keep buying the new sets as they get released.

Yes, this was discussion point of another thread: cf. here (refering to the trailer movie on youtube, but also giving the link within to the site).

A translation to the trailer I already contributed in the frist thread. Hope this helps.
