Playmobil launches 10 newly enhanced sites in six months
$2 billion international toy manufacturer and retailer Geobra Brandstätter, owner of the Playmobil brand, has re-launched in six months time 10 international web sites using the On-Demand eCommerce Platform+ from vendor Demandware Inc.

The manufacturer selected the vendor to support a quick international expansion into new markets while maintaining a consistent brand, it says. Additional plans are in the works to launch more sites for more countries this year.
The company chose the vendor to gain multi-site and multi-language capabilities, says Michael Konzmann, Playmobil director of e-commerce. “We can now continually update our site around the seasonal holidays and easily handle spikes in traffic,” he adds.
New features on the sites include e-mail postcards, wish lists and seasonal campaign features.
