Large loose lot
« on: July 20, 2009, 18:54:56 »
Last week I purchased a very large loose lot from a mother whose sons are grown.  She had advertised it on Craig's List with a few pictures so I knew there was a castle, a space ship, and a playground but the ad went on to say "and much much more".  When I picked it up, it was all boxed up so I brought it home and had such fun unpacking it all.  Now I am in the happy position of having lots of new PM to figure out and play with!  I thought I would share now and then about my process and what I find as I go along.

These pics show the boxes first packed and then all the contents laid out.
More soon as I start to figure it all out!

Wow, that's some haul, including some rare pieces like the spaceship, and a whole bunch of Steck that probably adds up to a 3666 castle.

You've some good stuff there, Betsy.  I see the 3781 fire engine and what looks like the early yellow school bus and the white, big rescue helicopter.  Three nice things for a start.

How intoxicating, truly a major score Betsy!!  Well done! :wow: :wow:

Karim,

Craigslist is an electronic equivalent to a bulletin board where people can post things they want or want to get rid of, jobs, questions or whatever. The allure is that there is no cost to use and results can be localized to your area, unfortunately there is no real oversight and there have been occasional problems so people need to exercise some caution in their dealings.

Actually it is the Large Castle 3450, complete except for one small piece and the later Steck set, 3123 Castle Assault.  Thanks to Playmofire, I have been putting it together and am absolutely thrilled with it!!

thanks for your interest everyone, I'll have more pics soon!  I am counting on your vast PM knowledges to help me figure out what I have here.

Score!  Congratulations on a great find!

Someone in my area once also advertised a large loose lot of Playmobil on Craig's List.  Unfortunately, I was short of money at the time so I could not take advantage of the deal.  Who knows what I missed?

Oh, well.  Ignorance is bliss.
