As discussed in an earlier topic thread about Lego vs. Playmobil, Playmobil needs to consider reissuing a popular series like Lego has done in the past with its STAR WARS theme! Lego realized adults were willing to purchase these reissued items, & I feel that if Playmobil brought the original Victorian houses, cars, trucks, & fences molds out of retirement, & offered them at a reasonable prices for a limited time, they would have some money making winners again!
Karim, how many Vic fences would you buy if they were reissued for say, 48.00 GBP each complete, or the yellow car for 33.00 GBP, or green delivery truck for 39.00 GBP? ???

What it might take is for Hollywood or Bollywood to produce some Big Box Office hits in the Victorian era. It seemed to work for other themes and Playmobil seems to be following suit on the added marketing exposure and popularity caused by cinema. Lego really started to push the Star Wars and Indiana theme along with the 2nd round of those movies . I also see it as no coincidence that Playmobil released the Ghost Pirates as soon as possible after the Pirates of the Caribbean ( and all the other "coincidences"). Playmobil could utilize the fact that this time around they have all the molds in hand. The release of sets would not be delayed for years and the market would be unsaturated with cheap imitation toys.

PS: and i just want more of them as I missed their original debut   ;D

   Great idea Bill

I had the entire Victorian collection some years ago that I displayed from MIB acquisitions, & would really like to have them again due to their great charisma! I feel they reflect the true Playmobil potential of quality & collectability! It may even be good to offer the Vic cars, & trucks in several colors thoughout their reintroduction, maybe red, black, blue, & green for the cars like they did the blue 4083 Victorian Randolf Karstadt truck, & other color choices for the trucks like wise! It's just a dream though, but I think it would make PM money! Just think if they did a little advertising about a Victorian theme revival showing upcoming attractions!
I know Karim would be first in line  :yup:!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

There are a lot of sets that would be quite popular if reiisued and not only for collectors. Take the fishing boat for example.

As for the victorian theme, if reiisued I'd buy it because its a really lovely theme. I'm just not prepared to pay those rediculous ebay prices.

This is a really interesting topic indeed as the latest figures Playmobil Victorian Mansions sales on Ebay are showing that the theme hasn't lost its appeal, quite the contrary.

I agree with Bill that this is a very beautifully made and crafted collection

That elusive fence ? Why do you think that I had to deploy treasures of imagination in order to find an affordable alternative to an item that reaches 200 pounds plus each time it hits Ebay  :yup:?

What really makes me smile is that all this wonderful collection was offered at such reasonable prices when in production and I kick myself not to have foreseen that it may be discontinued one day...

In the running up to Xmas, I would forget hunting for a bargain as there will be a huge interest...but one can still hit a bargain at times, just like I did a year ago with an Oldtimer Car at 26.00 pounds and the Oldtimer Truck at 36.00 pounds this summer

Should Playmobil release a new collection at Bill's proposed prices ? Well, let me put it this way : I'll go bankrupt  ;)

Thank you for admitting your weaknesses, Karim, and to seal your financial doom just think, if PM would also reissue the green battery operated street lamps with extra bulbs as an add on in a plastic bag for a mere 4.76 GBP, Uh Oh  :o:cloud9:!

Wait a second  :o...

"Here we have a lovely extra set for the Playmobil Victorian Mansion house, or for making a traditional garden or park scene.

This listing is for the ever-popular fence set which has been re-released as an add-on set (7360).

Brand new, supplied in sealed polybag (no box or other retail packaging). Will require assembly before play/display"

Is this true ? Has the most sought after item of the Victorian Theme finally been re-released at an affordable price and is now available to purchase ?

If I believe an auction placed be a German Ebayer, the Victorian Park Fence is now re-released by Playmobil under the reference 7477 and is offered at a price ranging from £35.00 to £40.00  :o !

Here is the description available with this auction :

RAILING or gate, the beautiful nostalgia Park fence and the garden wall or fence called nostalgic! It is particularly suitable for the Victorian House by playmobil. This is a remake of popular park fence set 5360.

The height is about 9 cm and length about 139 cm. He has the playmobil No 7477. This fence is therefore very complementary to the villa !

Nobody has played with the fence. It comes with the original manual. The contents were taken only for the photos from the plastic bag. He is not to be confused with the set 5360. This Set had not additionally a lantern 5340, not a park bench with three figures as a family."

If the above information is correct, I must admit that today,  I received the proof that Playmobil is indeed listening to the Collectors  ;)
