Custom Playmobil clergyman.
« on: May 19, 2009, 16:54:01 »
This is an attempt at designing a more realistic custom Playmobil clergyman to supercede the generic one that comes with the 4296 wedding church. Any suggestions, or comments will be appreciated.

Looks very good, Bill.  You could make him more generic if you dropped the cloak.  In the UK the cloak would suggest that he is either a Roman Catholic priest or is High Church of England (Anglican), that is a Protestant priest verging towards the RC end of the spectrum.  For we dissenters, most ministers now just wear a suit and the clerical collar (or a skirt and blouse or dress and clerical collar for the women).

I'm glad you cleared this issue up for me Gordon! I'm wanting to get some Nuns to compliment this project so maybe I'm going about it the right way to make him of the Catholic denomination!

I concur about the cloak.  I don't think any clergyman of any denomination in the US wears a cloak.  Otherwise, he looks great!    :yup:

I don't believe I've ever seen a real Bible in white.  The classic color for Bibles is black, although nowadays, I've seen them in all sorts of odd colors.  You may have to paint your own book.

Playmobil produced a Bible in white a long time ago.  White Bibles seem popular at weddings or christenings, but black or brown are still the most common colours over here.

Bill ...

When I see a simple, but very effective, custom such as yours, I can only think of two things ... First: well done, Bill !!! And, second: why didn't I think of that? ...

All the best,
Richard
