Within minutes, the slow but powerful CR1 arrived on scene. Crews deployed a hoseline and secured the aircraft.

Engine 2 and the Squad staged at the scene in case more tools or foam would be needed.

The rescue units are staffed by members of engine and ladder 2, there is 1 firefighter permanently assigned to CR1.

Crashes at Playmobil Regional Airport are rare, but units do get called to emergencies. In these pictures, units are staged at the taxiway for an inbound aircraft with a cabin smoke warning on.

Alright, that's it for now. I hope everyone enjoyed the pictures. I was able to take them at the local state park, at the R/C landing strip.  ;)

Great story, Ben, thank you, and excellent photos.  I agree with Bill, the outside approach is really different and gives a new slant on things.

Are we going to get some more detailed photos of those new machines?
