. . . Second. I don't know if they'll agree with it, but I think it's very important for Collectobil to allow their images to be copied, and -- well, it's my non professional opinion on the matter, I'm no lawyer, and have no thoughts on rights of property, value of images, or whatsoever kind of rights concerning this, so, I'll be glad to be taught about it -- I think there's no harm in it, as well as it motivates people to use the site more, and eventually to go (or return ;D ) to collecting playmobil.

So, maybe I could put it as a question: are there any problems, advantages, or interests for collectors (specially those who give their boxes pictures to the site) to allow them to be free for being copied?

I ask so because maybe there will be some sort of artistic/collectible value, in the future (or there is already!), and it's supposed to be protected to those who own these things.

(There's a book on this, I coundn't find the chance to get to it yet, but I'll possibly need to soon, for work reason: De Gutemberg à internet -- Direitos autorais das origens à Era Digital GANDEIMAN, Henrique | Record. It's in Portuguese, though.)

I also think of it because there are sections in Collectobil, possibly the most recently updated, that don't allow images to be copied, and I always got sad about it :(

Anyway, it's for the best to make it uniform as soon as possible, so that someone can or cannot copy some and not copy others. . . .

Hi Gus - If I remember correctly, I think that Bart said that he protected the images on Collectobil because they were being used by people who had copied his images and were using them as if they were their own work on websites, etc.  This is only a memory, so I am not sure, and there may have been other reasons, as well.  I agree with you that this would be a good time to re-think this policy, especially now that so many images of retired sets are also available on playmobil.de in the archives (and it is possible to copy those images.)  It definitely makes sense to be consistent within Collectobil and also to be consistent with Geobra's apparent policy.   :)

Just because it is possible to copy a picture from a website, it doesn't mean it is legal to do so in the country where the domain is registered.

Absolutely true!  However, Geobra/Playmobil are usually so protective of everything (for example, the trouble that people have had in the past using "playmo" or similar in their website names) that I was assuming they would have taken steps to prevent the copying of images if they didn't want people to do it.

(Most people seem pretty happy ... There's one person who's "afraid". No one enthusiastic?)
