Female arm versus Male arm

I figured this is the best place to ask as it really is not news. My question is about arms . I seem to not recall and a search founds nothing talking about it . On many of the newer or printed Klickies the Female has  an elbow or curve to the arm while the male arm is straight. Why make 2 new molds for the female and not just use the  male arm ? Does she need to be more curvaceous  :-* or is there some other reason .

Hi Rasputin!
I don't have an answer to your arm inquiry, but I have discovered that the recent female figures white inner body frame are shaped different than male frame. The females frame is more bell shaped, & cannot be interchanged with a male body. Just an observation due to experience.

Also interesting , i have not taken any apart in a while and will have to keep an eye out for the difference you mentioned . Thanks Bill for mentioning that  :wow:

I think the female curved arms look more natural than the straight ones, but - weirdly enough - they just don't look right when you put them on male figures! Especially the tough guys like knights, vikings, and so on. Try it for yourself. They just look kind of wrong with bent arms, if you ask me. :lol:

It must simply be my perception that the curve implies womanliness and makes the arm seem less muscular than the straight ones. :P

I think the curved arms only look wrong because we're used to straight arms. People don't really hold their arms dead straight, even soldiers.

The Egyptians have a greater mix of curved arms on male figures, so maybe they're becoming asexual, or maybe they reflect the fact that many ancient Egyptians batted for both teams.

The curved arms do require two different-shaped moulds where only one was required before, but many different types of arm moulds are now used.

i noticed that too, but fortunately you can switch the white frames to match the narrower waistline on the more anatomically correct female torsos.

And when you consider the amount of time most soldiers spend... uh... let's just say barracks life isn't the easiest place to meet a girl.

For that reason alone, soldiers ought to at least have bent right arms.

I have been studying some male Egyptian klickies to see if they really do have curved arms.

I'm not sure that this is strictly true. The short draped sleeves give the impression of a curve due to their shape, but the arm itself (the fleshy bit that pokes out :P) still looks quite straight (see attachment). I know, I know... I'm just being petty now. ;D

What I find looks a bit off is Cleopatra's (#4651) ramrod straight arms.
I don't think that there is a mold yet for completely bare curved arms, but I really wish they would create one. :crossed:
The female summer/beach figures would look so much nicer with slightly curved arms. :)
