I'd missed the close-ups until just now, kaethe.  The scale and detail of the whole thing is just awesome.

I have to agree with everyone else Kaethe, that is an incredible hospital display you have! Your explanations are nice and concise and the level of detail is fantastic, like Little Jo said that is a lot of pieces you have! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Was that Fred and Maisie I saw with their backs to us in Radiology? Look forward to more photos. Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday!

hi everyone
thank you so much for all of your nice comments.  i apologize that it has taken me so long to respond, but i have had some health issues to take care of for an out-of-town parent as well as working extra hours at the real hospital.

richard
i found your comment about the hospital being very much like a factory, i often think of it as being a very exclusive restaurant, as the service and delivered goods must be impeccable and as close to perfect as humanly possible to maintain the highest of standards for the patron.

p.s.: One thing I wonder: the presence of so many cellular/mobile phones. In Germany it is prohibited to use any mobile phones within a hospital.

when cell phones initially became commonplace for the general population, there were rules regulating their use in the hospitals here in the states, as there was a concern that their use would interfere with monitoring equipment.  that is no longer the case and cellphones are in use everywhere in the hospitals, including by staff for general communication.  i included cell phones in the hands of the visitors, because at any one moment anywhere in the hospital, nearly half of the people you will be looking at are using a cell phone

One of my favorites is the radiology department and the controll desk behind the protective glass.

tim, i was rather pleased with the airport control tower desk in the radiology department as well, purely unplanned until i found a bundle of airport parts on our local craigslist.  i can hardly wait until the vet hospital is here in the states, as i want to include the scanner in the radiology department.

Was that Fred and Maisie I saw with their backs to us in Radiology?

*****, gepetto, i was wondering if anyone would notice fred and maisie.  they were in san francisco, for just a short stop, and maisie tripped on the steps near the golden gate bridge, and injured her wrist.  fortunately nothing serious, but they came to the ER to have it checked.  actually, this is a common occurance, we frequently have patients in surgery who have stumbled while on vacation, and the steps at the north end of the golden gate bridge are a common culprit, because folks are so busy looking at the scenery, they neglect to watch their step on the older stairways.

one last thing, if anyone ever has an extra headless green dress OR girl body, i would love to buy or trade for it, as my avatar is not quite right, i need to put a chinese face/head on it, and i have not been able to get the body and head separated on the miniskirt girls, thanks in advance.

Hi Kaethe!
You may try this procedure on a not so important mini skirt test Klicky first  :prays:. I have found in past attempts if you get thick cardboard, put layers of it together, & stuff it up inside the front of the mini skirt, & then do the bent leg, & head smack to the test Klicky it will separate like a flat front Klicky. If this works for you, then it will be time for the important Klicky  :0!
Forget about all of the other stuff,....all we need is the reintroduction of the 3526 Fire Engine!

Kaethe,
Your hospital is inspiring! Such a fine level of detail. Congratulations!
We work in hospitals certifying a lot of their ventilation and other annual tests to get them through inspections and hopefully make them safer. So we are familiar with many of the rooms, spec. the OR's.
I have not attempted a hospital yet...have built the school and modern and suburban houses. Now am working on a garden center and finishing the furniture for my boutique shopping center if the table tops ever arrive from DS!
The chronological sequences from older to newer on different floors are a brilliant idea if a person has both old and new in one theme, such as the hospital.
Thanks for posting the photos and explanations, Pgal. ;D
After two decades of male toys (esp. Lego and PM) in our house, it is time to build something for us women!

Thank you, I have more work to do on it, more floors to add, but as always, time is an issue.  Bill Blackhurst built a great hospital as well, he even has the media out front covering a trauma case, that being his forte.

kaethe, this is AMAZING! It should be on display somewhere. Have your colleagues at the hospital seen this?
