« on: November 26, 2008, 14:15:15 »
Is it polite in here to ask ? I am curious to who is getting what
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Well, after I bought one of the Santa specials I was bitten by the Christmas theme bug (suprise, suprise) and coupled with Playmobil putting the forest Advent Calendars on sale I have been chasing past releases of Advent Calendars and Christmas sets and will be happy with whatever I can get.

We're not having a tree this year, as we'll be visiting our in-laws in Houston, and all their trees got blown down in the recent hurricane.  :-\

I know it is just Thanksgiving but i have already started to shop and i see a few others have also . I was wondering what is the community getting this year ? It might help to identify the recipients sex and age so it is clearer on the situation . I asked and people are posting and i have read in other treads people divulging presents , so here is our playmobil list .

I am getting our oldest son (7.5)  Pirates , 4294 Light house, 4290 ship, and 4295, 4292, 4291, 4293 smaller sets to compliment it .

The middle son (5), do to his silly personality and high silly spirit will be getting Circus . 4230 Big top, 4321 band, 4233, 4234, 4235, 4236, 4237 acts, and a few 4238 clowns . We will save the 4232 trailer for a birthday or something .

The youngest (3) who is much more serious will get the Things that do things, 4323 large delivery truck, 4321 race car-shop, 4312 car-wash, 4318 garage, 4442 car with go-cart.

I am hoping my Mom or Mother in law will get them each a 4320 controller for the cars and trucks  :crossed:

My brothers son (7) i am still trying to figure it out . He is a big computer kid and his dad does not play with toys  :'( . Maybe the Target Roman arena ?

My brothers daughter (1) i may get some 1.2.3. but i am not sure yet .

My sister in laws boys (6 & 2.5) i will get some romans and pirates for them

My wife will get the 4199 Fairy garden, 4196 flower wheel barrow, 4195 carriage, 4197 rickshaw & the 4198 water lily . in each set i hide either chocolate , earrings, a bracelet or other jewelry  :shhhh: That way i am psychologically making her like playmobil blue boxes more  ;)

PS: Martin tell them to get a charlie brown twig tree  ;D

Well, my kids will be getting their presents sooner  ;D as we don't celebrate Christmas with presents; but Sinterklaas (5th of December).

Tristan will be getting the new police car, the policewman with robber and some other, smaller gifts.
Hopefully he'll be getting the Policemotorbike as well.

Brynn will be getting the Police-quad. This year we will be concentrating on Thomas the Tankengine-toys for him.

All in all a rather small affair compared to others - but more then enough, I think.

Uhhh, just be sure to include the receipt.  That may be what he thanks you for...  Is he into computer programming?  There may be a programming book he'd like (granted, at $50 a pop that breaks your $30 budget).

I would never survive the unwrapping, before she opened the box and discovered the pearl.

In grand Gen X fashion, I bought a lot of junk for myself.  Like the South American Native skeleton cave (3040) fresh off a store shelf.

My kid plays with the stuff (until she breaks a Playmobil rule and the stuff goes back to the basement--ex: sitting down on my Easter Rabbit scooter and telling me to suck eggs broke a rule).  But she gets so much junk anyway from my mom (that soon winds up strewn about the house) that I don't feel like a "Bad Dad" for monopolizing the goods.

Or maybe I do, hence the need to explain.

Parenting in America is nuts.  If you walk into the wrong house, you'll find Mom and Dad praying to their child and trembling when his will explodes...

Ya what is it called ? and i have to ask if it is something that can be pirated of the net ? My brother seems to be able to get a lot of stuff . The generation X shiver me timbers kind of guy  :shhhh:

The generation of people born after the baby boomers, aprox. from late 60's to early 80's

Also as a state of mind if you view your child's education as a way to increase their maximum earning potential it also helps to classify you as a Gen. X'er ( money is the most important thing )
