Monkey or Chimpanzee head removal ?
« on: November 15, 2008, 20:08:39 »
They are called both Chimpanzee (3892) and monkeys (3496) on Heathers site but no part #  . I am looking for info if anybody has ever taken his head off ? I thought i read in the collector that they are made in one mold process and i can not figure how to take him apart ? I want to just rip his head off  >:D as it looks like a ball joint but want to be able to put him back together .
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Hi Rasputin,
I just had a good look at a stray Playmobil monkey,
and it looks like they can not be taken apart without damaging the torso.

You could carefully cut the head off with a razor saw, That would leave a smooth surface to reattach the head again.

Just a thought,
Jimbo

I agree, they're not designed for head-removal. Or arm or leg. Or tail.

No part#? What's this, then?

30 04 1780 - Chimpanzee

I just added it to 3896, you really didn't see it there before, but it was certainly in 3496 and a bunch of others.  I agree, 3496 needs its set name changed.  I blame Collectobil and my copying en masse :)

The third digit not being "5" or "6" tells me it was cast in one piece.  There are very few parts with moving sub-parts that are like this - a curiosity!
PlaymoDB.org has catalogued over FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND parts in more than 6100 sets. Come and visit to find any set or part numbers you need to know!

I ought to say, Heather, you need to get out more, but I'm going to say, stay in and work on that database, it's awesome!
