Those older catalogs sure had some creative people designing those displays .  I really do wish Playmobil would have continued that form of advertising the new sets , and to think what they could do today with all the detailed modeling supplies / thanks for showing the insides of the 86

LHAAP, thanks for the pictures and scans of the 1986 catalog.  That's got some great pictures,
especially the dioramas of the 4029 pennsylvania railroad train.

Thanks Lars, they are indeed wonderful.  And I spotted three new DS sets to add: 7015, 7019, and 7706!!
