Playpeople catalogues do exist.
« on: September 14, 2008, 19:04:16 »
Hi all,
I haven't posted much lately, I've been a bit busy with another Playmobil project recently.

This last week has been very exciting for me because I have discovered that Playpeople catalogues do exist.

Here is an image from part of one of the pages showing a very interesting tractor from 1978.

I'm fairly certain I've got one, Garry, and I've been meaning to find it and let you see it/have it.  Now to find it with stuff in store!

garry, do you have it? can you scan it?
I  only have the collector for see the playpeople items and there are many absences.
For example, last week I won this blister in ebay, and it is not in the collector:

Hi Gordon,

Is it a small fold out catalogue that you get inside the sets or a full sized catalogue?

Hi aleon,

I haven't got one yet but I have seen a few pages from it and I am working on getting it. If I do get hold of it I will certainly scan and post it on here.

It's a small fold out, Garry.  Have I sent you it already?

You could easily of sent it to me already I have a few lying around here.

The fold out small catalogues covered the Playpeople sets for 1976 and 1977, what I have just purchased is a large catalogue showing the full range of Playpeople sets from 1978.

The catalogue also lists the Little people play sets, hospital and castle, PlayTrain and the metal Atlas trucks all designed for 3" action figures.

I've just got to wait for it to turn up in the post.

It sounds very interesting, Gary.  A valuable addition to your collection.

Here are the front and back covers of the 1978 Playpeople catalogue from Julie's (Gyps) Castle Sauvage website.

Julie also scanned the inside pages as well (71 Playpeople sets).

We need to find a place to host these on the internet for PF's members.

I could just start a new thread and start downloading, or put them in the gallery, but there's also a lot of other interesting Playpeole stuff from Julie's site.

And, if I just create a new website, then it won't be for just our PF members. Also, I think that Julie would rather that we kept this only here at PF until that someday when she's ready to reopen her Castle Sauvage website.

Maybe I should just post the images of specific sets when one of our members asks for it.

I'm really interested in reading other suggestions from our members. Please let me know your thoughts.

All the best,
Richard

Hello Richard,

If the Gallery is restricted to members only then I would say post the pictures there, I would be interested in looking at them but would have no idea what to ask for as I know virtually nothing about them. Then I would say start a new thread for the other related tidbits so we have a place to discuss and reference them, my two cents.

P.S. Thank you for taking this on and thank you to Gyps for offering the information to us!
