new int. police sets 4260, 4262, 4264, 4267, 4269
« on: August 10, 2008, 18:20:53 »
Hi, I bought yesterday the 4265 mission impossible set (see the short review I will post later...) and found the new international police sets in the leaflet... As they actually differ in several details, I thought it might be interesting for some of you...

best,
socrates

some more detailed close-ups...

first the 4260 police car is not produced in the fancy silver version but in white with black hupcaps...
the flashing lights are in blue-red combination.

the same with the motorbike 4262: white basis and "police" instead of "polizei"...

the other three sets 4264, 4267, and 4269 are fairly the same, police station 4264 and helicopter 4267 are both coming with two black male police officers instead of a white one in the german set, and in 4267 it appears to be a different map... ...but I am not sure about this detail.

P.S.: Oh, the release date will be in about one year, sept. 2009.

I have mentioned these sets before, but your pictures are much better - thanks :wow:

And regarding the release these sets are available in short time in the Northern European countries and the Netherlands.

Product photos can also be seen on the Dutch PLAYMO-site.

PS: I still don't like the red light :(

Thanks, Socrates.  I wonder why white for the non-German world?  Certainly in the UK the move is away from white for the base colour and to silver.  This is simply because when the cars are sold off the livery (stripes etc) are removed and a silver car has a better resale value than a white one.

When they are released here next year, I don't plan to buy any of them.  Instead, I shall stick with my present police motorcycles which I have customised but (if possible) fit the working blue light system on them.

Thanks for the pictures Socrates!

I'll be getting a couple of the new bikes, but I think I have enough Police Cars for now. I'm most excited by the Jewel Thieves - the black sack is the same moulding as Santa's open sack in the recent Special, and a very useful prop for many themes.

I'll getting that thief with black sideburns, they're rare enough that I still look out for figures with sideburns.

@playmofire: they switched to silver for the exact same reason here in Germany.

@Martin Milner: This set is great! But the thief has no black sideburns. He has just black camouflage imprints on his head. The black ones will remain as rare as before...  :(
