Hello, Timmy ...

I give up, Richard.

Don't "give up" ... Believe in the magic!

And, if you're having trouble with accepting the "magic" of Playmobil, click HERE and look at the shadow of the Pteranodon in the second photo. (It might make it a bit easier for you to believe in the unbelievable.) ...

All the best,
Richard

Thank you very much for DINOS ON LOCATION, Richard!
It was fun reading and very well done. :wow: :wow: :wow:

Thanks for braving natures elements, storms, angry volcanoes, and I'm sure, a few bugs
and such like critters :yup:

The little amphibian driving down the road brought me back to childhood again.
(not a long trip )

Loved your aerial photos, they are awesome!....(I use a small Plexiglas disk the same diameter of the prop arch to simulate a turning prop.)  I know that your high speed shutter
on your camera stopped the prop in motion. ;)

Thanks again,
Best regards,
Jimbo

Thank you for your thank you, Jimbo!

Because of all the wonderful participation and "applause" from the PF members, I'm very encouraged to do another "on location" review. However, it will have to wait until Susan and I return to the islands sometime in October.

Thanks again, Jim, and all the best,
Richard

Hello, Rasputin ...

Great photo story Richard. I think it would be nice to have it archived in a story with out any comments in the middle.

Thank you for your suggestion about the "archive" ... It's a very nice compliment.
However, IMO, it was everyone's comments (and surprises) that contributed to making this a very unique review ...

I know many people would like to know how you created your flying effect but i must say a true master never reveals his secrets. I remember my uncle who was a Maestro Flamenco Guitarist . He would cup his hands in a fashion to hide how he was creating the music . So please do not tell and take the glamor out of the pictures. :shhhh:

Thanks, for sharing the story about your uncle. (I hope that Timmy reads this.) ...  :klickywink:

All the best,
Richard

You're welcome, Michael ...

Thank you Richard for this wonderfull trip

It's the least that I could do in return for all the wonderful trips that you've taken us on with your incredible Playmobil customs and dioramas ...

All the best,
Richard

Well said, Gus ...

Richard's pictures of the flying playmo objects are really according to the new Indiana Jones movie ... ;D

Therefore, I think Richard may be considered as the Playmoworld Steven Spielberg ...

Macgayver, however, would be more like ... erm ... Mcgyver in the Playmoworld of customizers!

You see, these are two different arts, and NONE of'em is actual magic --

Richard makes illusionism;
Michael, stuff kids like to see, and would love to do themselves (like a bomb with a piece of paper and a couple of stones and a match ...).

There's another of these "magicians", who is Ralph Gemein, at Garden Wargaming / Playclicks ...

Cheers!

Gus
:blackhair:

Much more fun and a lot more palatable than Martin and Timmy's hot air (and gas) theories ...

Thanks and all the best,
Richard

They don't have cameras and locations on the continent then???  ;)

Thanks for the wonderful story Richard, it was as well done as I suspected it would be.

Good morning, Tim ...

They don't have cameras and locations on the continent then???  ;)

Actually, I've dragged Maisie and Fred along for the ride.  So, everyone should soon see some travel photos posted under F&M's "Excellent Adventure" topic.

Thanks for the wonderful story Richard, it was as well done as I suspected it would be.

Thanks, Tim ... That was a very nice compliment ...  :-[

The "On Location" plans for future "reviews" may be a bit ambitious:

The "working title" is A HISTORY OF THE CARIBBEAN through Playmobil set reviews.

We will "stumble" upon isolated islands that have been "frozen in time" because they've been geographically isolated and cut off from the rest of the world.

We might call the series the:
The MYSTERIES of the CARIBBEAN ... ON LOCATION

1. It was probably very appropriate that we did the Dinosaurs first!

2. The next "on location" could be the first Native Aboriginals ....Arawaks, Caribs, ???
(We could review the old Jungle series (I will need to get them from the Canada house).

3. The native aboriginals could be followed by the Conquistadors and remnants of Columbus' crew.
(They actually found the "Fountain of Youth") ...
:klickywink:

4a. Are any of the descendants of the Caribbean Pirates living on some of the uncharted Caribbean islands?

4b. Do we want to do the early sugar plantations? Hmmm ...
:hmm:

5. 1940s Vichy French and Germans in the Caribbean?

6. That's probably about as far into the future as we may want to go unless we do smugglers or something.

7. Underwater Exploration with a "stumble" upon the last of the Atlantis civilization.

As you can see, this could take a lot of time, but if everyone is interested, it could also be a lot of fun ...

Thanks again, Tim ... And, all the best,
Richard

I'm becoming a convert to the Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt series, despite Cussler's occasionally abysmal English, and thought the various submaries would do very nicely for a Dirk Pitt story.

My problem is I lack access to a safe, clean body of water to do the stories in. My birdbath was too shallow, the River Thames too dirty, though the bathtub works in a pinch. A nice outdoor pool would do very nicely!

Hey Martin, do British motels have swimming pools?  In the states, most motels above the rank of "Motel 6" have a pool, even if not large.  I worked at a Comfort Inn in college.  The pools are usually empty on weekdays.  You could take a short holiday and take your stuff.

Or if you have something like a YMCA, you might be able to find pool time late evening.

Or, hey, my uncle who lives in Lake Jackson near Houston has an in-ground pool... well, my other uncle in Kansas City also has a pool, but I'm not yet willing to tell him about my closet hobby.  And, besides he'd just sit around making wise cracks.

But, yeah, I share your pain.  I've been wanting to do something with my boats in an environment I have control of in case I capsize something.

Get an aquarium, Martin! ... (Do you use this word in English? ...) A glass box for water, to grow fishes. It's a perfect (and right sized) place for underwater indoors Playmo submarine adventure, and it could give you wonderful pics ... You might even get some real fish ... Preferably some that look like sharks! :)

Just an idea ... ::) :P
