The Magdeburger Reiter is only being sold in a Museum in Magdeburg, Germany. His body is coming back to haunt you though - it's being used in the new Kozak Special in 2009 .
I think he's great as his coat is definitly likee the early lords used to wear. In other words - a great medieval custume .
It's good to know that some museums have the sense to sell Playmobil figures.
I went to the British Museum yesterday (more on this another time), where they have a special children's giftshop. There was a lot of space given over to Roman stuff, even a set of Roman pyjamas (unfortunately not in my size), but no Playmobil. If I was a Playmobil representative, or a British Museum giftshop buyer, I'd want to see some Playmobil romans figures there - either the 4271 set, or just individually packed legionnaires and centurions, which would easily sell at £3 apiece, a 50% mark up on purchase price, and I'm sure they could do a deal for bulk purchasing.
Now multiply that by the number of Museums with Roman content across the UK... bearing in mind the Romans occupied large areas of England for nearly 400 years, there's a loot of them.
Basiclally, they'd sell like hot cakes, and help boost Playmobil's presence in the marketplace.
Golly, they're so shortsighted, I'm going to email customer services and ask why they haven't done it yet. Maybe they'll employ me to do it.
