Please tell me which browser you are using and whether you receive any error messages at all when trying to post the multiple attachments, and I will post a new topic at the SMF support forum to see if they can help provide a solution to this.
I use Internet Explorer; I don't receive any error messages. In fact, when I try to post more than 1 picture everything seems to go normal until I review the post.

I'll test it again, to see if anything has changed...

...and it hasn't :'(

This is really odd. Internet Explorer is what I have too, and probably the most common browser amongst the forum users. ???

Is it a recent version you have? I don't think that should really make a difference, but we probably should look at everything.

Please check the description by right-clicking the IE program icon (not the shortcut) and selecting Properties from the drop-down menu and then hitting the "Version" tab (That's if it looks the same to you. I have 6.0, so it may be different).

The more info I have, the better armed I am to get answers to this puzzle at the SMF forum.  ;)

I have version 5.1.7 for Mac (so forget the right-clicking, as I have only 1 mouse button ;) ; with me it is located in the info-menu, but the result is the same).

How about switching to Safari as your browser?
Since we switched browsers (a while back) i have consistently used Safari with very little trouble at all.

Though it does not do well in Playkingdoms or J4K.

Which OS are you using?
We are all upgraded to Tiger, here.

I currently have OS9. I have no experience with Safari or other browsers except I.E. (it worked well enough for me so there was no reason to switch).

Well, I posted about it last night: Multiple Attachment Problem

All I can do now is wait and hope that someone has a clue how to fix it. :(

I did test the permissions thing since one person at SMF suggested that might be to blame. I put 'possum' into the same group as MBL (increased her post count by 100! :P) just to make sure this wasn't a problem related to his "Playmo Fanatic" posting status. Possum was able to attach 3 pics to a post, so I really doubt that this is being caused by the member groupings.

I don't think that MBL should have to switch browsers either. There must be an answer to this somewhere. ???

Just curious... what kind of problems do you have with pk and j4k when using Safari?

I just checked.
It DOES NOT happen at J4K, only at Playkingdoms.  Please excuse my mistake.

At playkingdooms, the page doesnt format itself properly.
I get little black text disclaimer, and the if message about click here if you dont see the menu in the middle of every page that I open.
So it appears on pictures, text, links etc.

Tahra does state that the site works best with IE, and with IE the little black text appears at the bottom of the page, or so I believe.

No problem. ;) I just wanted to know in case there was something we could do to improve it.
I can pass on the info about your problem to Tahra, but I don't know if she can do anything to fix it. ??? Sounds like a major annoyance though. :(

I think the major difference between our 2 sites (not counting the use of .asp files) is the frames.
Pk uses frames, j4k doesn't... although sometimes I really wish I did - especially when I have to edit something in the navigation menu, for example. (Just recently I changed a link for j4k's guestbook which meant editing 160+ pages 8})

Hi MBL

A Support Specialist from SMF had a look around in the forum settings earlier today and couldn't find anything that was obviously wrong or that might have prevented you from being able to post multiple attachments.

He suggested increasing the size limits for attachments to see if that might make a difference. For the moment, they are set at 250kb per attachment. Please try once more to attach 3 or 4 pics to a post (nothing too large to begin with, just the size that you normally would be using).

If it still doesn't work, then I don't know what we can do. I think we'll have to assume that something in the SMF program is not compatible with the system you are using. :(

edit:
I know you're not keen to change browsers, but Mozilla is a very good alternative to IE. It's free, it's just as easy to use and only takes a few minutes to download and set up. I installed the Windows version yesterday for the very first time, and I find I prefer it to IE already... I'm seriously considering making it my default browser after 5 years of using nothing but IE. 8-)

Mozilla 1.2.1 is the only version available for Mac OS 9. You can find a link to download it and the bottom of this page if you're at all interested. Sorry I can't provide a more workable solution for you. :(
