Your medieval illustrations are funny, because they are so obviously inappropriate to the setting. We'll pretend you did it on purpose and leave it at that.
As for the sequel, strengthening the hook might help you catch more fish. As it stands the relevance of Elmo exposing his identity is not absolutely persuasive.
Other than serving as an exposition on the playfulness of the new generation male, your otherwise well-executed story lacks an enticing narrative.
